Kanji/Chettinad Weaves

These are the royal weaves of Tamil Nadu, India.  The motifs in these sarees depict anna pakshi (bird), yali ( a mythical  creature seen in Hindu temples similar to greek griffin), mango and forest themes.

The Kanjipuram silk are woven from pure mulberry silk thread,
